Crosslane Student Development in Liverpool takes shape

Glassworks

The project, on Vauxhall Road in Liverpool, will see the creation of over 300 en-suite apartments and luxury studios across eight storeys. The new state-of-the-art accommodation called Glassworks will be managed by Prime Student Living to offer spacious shared living facilities, just a short walk from both University of Liverpool and Liverpool John Moores University.

Crosslane appointed North West property specialist Pochin’s in May 2014 for the construction of Glassworks, which will offer unrivalled accommodation to Liverpool’s blooming population of almost 55,000 students.  Both parties marked the development reaching its highest point with a  topping out ceremony to celebrate and presented a North West charity, the Children’s Adventure Farm Trust, with a cheque for £6,000. The donation will contribute to the Trust’s ongoing support for terminally ill, disabled and disadvantaged children across the region. Speaking at the ceremony, Crosslane Student Developments Director Andy Whatson said: “Liverpool’s student population has swelled in recent years, and we’re thrilled to be able to establish a presence in this fantastic city. The demand for high quality student accommodation continues to grow and we envisage that Glassworks will be at the forefront of that market. We have developed a significant addition to Liverpool’s student community, and I’d like to thank Pochin’s for their integral support in delivering our vision for this project.”

Jonathan Pochin, Managing Director of Pochin’s Construction, added: “Pochin’s has a long and successful history in Liverpool and we’re excited to be taking on further work in this vibrant city as we continue to deliver high quality projects across the region. We’re also delighted to be able to further our growing relationship with Crosslane, who have very kindly offered to support our chosen charity, the Children’s Adventure Farm Trust.”
