Successful topping out for Brass Founders, Sheffield – opening on track for 2017/18 academic year

Crosslane Student Developments, part of the Crosslane Group, celebrated the topping out event of its Brass Founders development at Scotland Street, Sheffield, on 18 May 2017. The ceremony was conducted by Robert Goulsbra, Development Manager, Crosslane Student Developments, and Will Prew, Contracts Manager, Create Construction.

The property comprises three new residential blocks of six, seven and eight storeys, with solar panels on the roof and outbuildings that will have a green “living” roof. The high specification brick and glass façade with a U-shaped formation creates a large private landscaped courtyard in which residents can study, collaborate and socialise.

Of the 437 beds, 144 will be high specification self-contained studio apartments and 293 premium en-suite bedrooms in clusters of up to six bedrooms, sharing a lounge, kitchen and dining area. Separately, there is a luxury kitchen and 18-seater dining area complete with Bluetooth speakers for the exclusive use of residents choosing one of the spacious studios.

To enable students to experience the high quality of the finished property, a marketing suite and show flats have been created within the building which were unveiled at the event and where the Prime Student Living team will be on hand to provide information and take bookings. These are in addition to existing show flats at 294-296 Glossop Road, directly opposite the University of Sheffield New Spring House building, conveniently located just two minutes’ walk from the University of Sheffield Student Union..
