Crosslane Student Developments, part of the Crosslane Group, has been shortlisted as a finalist for the Scottish Property Awards 2018 in the Student Accommodation Development of the Year category for The Old Printworks, a purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) development ideally situated in the heart of Edinburgh.
The development has been recognised both for its creative vision and for helping to ease the supply/demand imbalance in one of the UK’s most popular student cities. The building seamlessly blends traditional materials and design, with cutting edge technology and communal internal layouts, to ensure the building sits sensitively in the central Edinburgh’s historic conservation area, but also provides state-of-the-art accommodation for the local discerning student population.
The £31 million scheme, forward funded by Unite, the market leader in UK student accommodation, creates so much more than just a place to live for students – it strikes an ideal balance between work and play, encouraging socialising and collaboration between peers. The Old Printworks was fully let before the start of the 2017/18 academic year, indicative of its popularity among students.
The annual Scottish Property Awards celebrates excellence in commercial property, rewarding the most innovative developments across Scotland over the past year. An independent judging panel of experts drawn from across the sector bring industry experience and market knowledge to recognise such achievements. The fifth annual ceremony, which includes 18 categories, has received a record number of entries this year, which is a testament of the increasingly high standards in an industry which is continuously striving to push creative boundaries.
The award ceremony will take place on 1 March 2018 at the Hilton Glasgow.
