Crosslane have been active in the purpose-built student housing sector since 2007.  In response to the increasing demand and restricted supply of student housing throughout Europe, Crosslane have established platforms to facilitate investment in the student housing sector across a number of Europe’s leading student markets.

Qualitative and quantitative trends in supply and demand offer student housing a strong investment prospect for the coming years.

Crosslane’s operational platform, Prime Student Living, currently have 3,114 bedrooms under management in France, Germany and the U.K. This portfolio is forecasted to grow to 7,500 bedrooms across Germany, the Netherlands, France and the U.K by September 2016.

Crosslane’s investments are facilitated with access to debt and equity finance provided by affiliated investment funds.

Crosslane Real Estate Deutschland see opportunity in developing independent student housing with associated general services. We aspire to build a portfolio of 5,000 bedrooms through the development of new buildings and the acquisition and renovation of existing operational student housing assets.

We are seeking the following opportunities:

•   Existing student housing residences with refurbishment potential
•   Development sites
•   Conversion of buildings with alternative uses (for example office buildings and hotels)
Scale: 150 to 500 bedrooms

Macro Location

Correct site location within chosen cities is absolutely critical to success. These must be close or next to university campuses, preferably within walking distance to provide maximum convenience to students and closer than alternative accommodation to achieve competitive advantage. However, they can be within a short cycle ride away, since secure bicycle storage facilities are provided onsite.

The location must also be connected with a strong public transport network. In addition, we aim for locations to be within major city centers, which is attractive to student leisure lifestyle, in close proximity to bars, cafes, coffee shops, restaurants and clubs as well as surrounding shops, supermarkets and other facilities and amenities, to make a handy and convenient daily regime and way of life.
